On Wednesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Kanat Saudabayev, OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

K.Saudabayev stated that in July 2010, the ministers of foreign affairs of the OSCE participating States would meet to discuss the aspects of holding the OSCE summit in Astana in November 2010. He expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian side for supporting the initiative of N.Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, concerning this event. 

 

The OSCE Chairman-in-Office invited the delegation of the Ukrainian Parliament to participate in the Second Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum "European Dimension of the OSCE" to be held in Kazakhstan in May 2010.

 

K.Saudabayev stressed that Kazakhstan considered Ukraine to be an important European State and a strategic partner. He expects that the presidential elections in our country "will launch a new stage of the socio-economic development and democratic traditions."  

 

V.Lytvyn and K.Saudabayev highly appreciated the level of cooperation in the political and economic aspects, as well as in the humanitarian field.

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that Ukraine was concerned with the extension of inter-parliamentary relations with Kazakhstan. On his behalf, he requested to invite the leaders of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan to visit Ukraine. 

 

In his turn, K.Saudabayev stated that such visit can take place after the meeting of the leaders of both States, which should give incentives to the development of bilateral relations.
